Keurig vs Nespresso vs Ninja: which coffee maker is right for you?

By EmbroidHub Editorial Team · Updated · How we compare

As an Amazon Associate, EmbroidHub earns from qualifying purchases. Prices and availability are accurate as of the date shown and are subject to change.

Single-serve coffee makers are fast and easy, but the three big systems work very differently. Keurig uses K-Cup pods from hundreds of brands, Nespresso uses its own capsules for espresso-style coffee with crema, and Ninja's DualBrew makes both pods and a full pot of ground coffee.

Cost per cup

Ground coffee in a carafe is by far the cheapest per cup. K-Cups usually cost less than Nespresso capsules, especially store brands or Subscribe & Save. If you drink several cups a day, a machine that also uses ground coffee pays for itself.

Our verdict

Choose Nespresso Vertuo if you love espresso-style coffee, Keurig if you want endless pod flavors, and the Ninja DualBrew Pro if your home drinks a lot of coffee and wants both pods and a full pot.
