How we compare products

Our product comparisons put the most popular products from different brands side by side, so you can see in a minute which one fits you. Here is how we build them.

What we look at

We start from the products US shoppers buy most on Amazon in each category. For each one we read the manufacturer's specifications, the product manuals and a large sample of verified buyer reviews, paying special attention to the problems owners mention again and again.

We then compare the specs that actually change the experience (size, battery life, compatibility, what is in the box), and write down who each product is best for. We do not rank products by commission.

What we do not do

We do not accept payment from brands to be included or to rank higher, and we do not publish fake reviews or star ratings. We do not run lab tests, so we say so: specs come from the manufacturers, and we point out when a version or model year can change them.

Keeping comparisons up to date

Products get new versions often. Each comparison shows the date it was last updated, and we revise it when a new model replaces one of the picks.
